Switzerland’s army chief has warned the country must strengthen its defences amid rising global instability.
Speaking on RTS, Benedikt Roos said evolving conflicts, including in Ukraine and Iran, mean Switzerland “needs more security,” particularly to protect critical infrastructure.
He identified two key priorities: improving systems to counter long-range missile and drone threats, and boosting resilience against daily cyberattacks.
Roos also acknowledged significant gaps in air defence capabilities, citing delivery delays and rising costs for military equipment.
