A shocking video from a Swiss barracks in Lenzburg, canton Aargau, has sparked outrage.
The footage, obtained by the 20 Minutes newspaper, shows a sergeant throwing a cat at sleeping soldiers - twice - as others burst out laughing.
The animal, visibly terrified, is later said to have been released outside.
The incident reportedly took place in the spring. While most soldiers condemned the act as “completely inappropriate,” it’s unclear what disciplinary action, if any, has been taken.
The Swiss army has not yet commented on the video.
