Swiss authorities have extended criminal proceedings following a series of cyberattacks claimed by the pro-Russian hacker group “NoName.”
The group targeted federal sites in June 2023, the visits of Swiss President Alain Berset to Kyiv, the World Economic Forum, the Bürgenstock peace summit and Eurovision 2025 in Basel. Swiss cities and banks were also hit.
Following joint international investigations led by Europol and Swiss police, several group members were identified and arrest warrants issued.
Raids and arrests took place in 12 countries, though no Swiss-based suspects or devices were found.
The hackers used a global network of thousands to launch coordinated cyber attacks across Europe, often during major political events.
