Parliament is discussing a bill which could outlaw unsolicited advertising in the mail.
Unless you have a ‘no advertising please’ sticker – it’s likely you get the junk mail in your mail box.
It’s estimated more than half of the mailings are thrown away without even being read. Figures from the Post Office suggest that would amount to 64,000 tonnes a year.
The bill has already been accepted by the National Council in Bern. It now needs to be voted on by the Upper House - that’s likely in the autumn.
