There’s no sign the government is prepared to relax its position on the re-export of Swiss made munitions to Ukraine.
Under neutrality rules, Switzerland has the final say on any weapons it sells to other countries. They can’t be resold or donated.
It’s already refused requests from Germany who want to supply Ukrainian forces with munitions.
The latest case is Spain.
Madrid would like to send equipment to Ukraine, but is being told by Bern it can’t.
There are no details on what type of weaponry Spain would like to send.
The Spanish ambassador in Bern is said to be appealing the case.
