Berset positive about Covid progress

The health minister Alain Berset says the outlook for the pandemic today is better than it has been for a long time.

Speaking to Swiss public radio over the weekend, Berset says despite the record number of Covid infections, hospitals have not been overrun – as was initially feared. 

Berset points out that’s decisive for the government – and measures that are no longer needed should be scrapped. 

The end of mandatory quarantine requirements and compulsory homeworking are already being discussed. 

Businesses and some politicians are calling for an end to all Covid restrictions – but the medical sector cautions that it’s too soon.
