Beware quicksand!

We’re being warned to be careful of quicksand.

The Verbois dam is being drained at the moment, so the levels in the Rhône and Arve rivers are lower than normal, exposing the mud.

Police say it is possible to get stuck.

All river activities - including walking along the banks - are currently banned.

Warning signs are posted, but authorities have found footprints and paw prints in restricted zones.

Police warn of quicksand risks and difficult rescue conditions.

They advise to avoid riverbeds, keep dogs leashed, and follow safety instructions.
