In the run up to the vote on widening autoroutes – even the Federal Roads Office says the positive impact on the section between Geneva and Nyon would last only for a few years.
The report has been seen by the Blick newspaper.
Yesterday, the transport minister Albert Rösti, gave his full support to the project.
The report says the expansion would increase capacity from 90,000 cars a day today – to 130,000. But it’s predicted that limit will be hit by 2040.
Next month voters will be asked to spend CHF 5bn on the roads.
