Biggest Palestinian protest in Geneva for 2 years

Saturday saw the largest pro-Palestinian demonstration in Geneva since 2023.

Police counted over 6,000 participants, other reports suggest over 8,000, while organisers claimed more than 10,000.

Protesters marched from Place de Neuve across the Pont du Mont-Blanc, displaying banners with the names and ages of children killed in Gaza.

Marchers accused Switzerland of “complicity with Israel under the guise of neutrality” and condemned UBS for financial ties with the Israeli state.

Switzerland continues to refuse recognition of Palestine, despite recent moves by some Western countries.

A parallel march in Bellinzona drew over 2,000 people, who demanded respect for humanitarian rights. Both demonstrations ended peacefully.
