Black Friday sales have been a disappointment – but sales during the week were up.
According to figures compiled by the monitoring company AWP, this Black Friday generated 5% fewer sales than last year.
But sales across the week show a different story with revenues up 10% on the same period last year.
However, while consumer electronic sales were strong – sales in home furnishings and fashion were lower, although online searches were up.
The director of the platform blackfriday.ch, Jérôme Amoudruz, says it’s clear purchasing power is declining. There’s a difference of 20% between intentions and reality.
