A six-year-old boy has died in Sargans in canton Sankt Gallen after being run over by a truck.
The boy was on a skateboard on the sidewalk when a truck turned onto the street. The driver didn’t see him. The child was declared dead at the scene.
The owner of the haulage company the driver works for, says the man is devastated. He says he’s been a driver for 35 years.
Locals say the road is known to be dangerous and it’s unclear where the road ends and the sidewalk begins.
Police say psychological support is being offered to the boy’s family and an investigation is underway.
