Seventy residents of the landslide threatened village of Brienz in Graubünden, were allowed to visit their homes on Saturday.
They had to leave in November because of the threat of a rock avalanche.
They were able to check on their homes and gardens – but many found it upsetting as they don’t know when it will be safe for them to return.
From now on, the evacuees will be allowed to visit the village every weekend if the situation allows.
