It’s going to be a good week for Basel.
The city is preparing for the Eurovision Song Contest this week, but now it’s celebrating as Basel Football Club takes the Swiss crown, the first time since 2017.
It beat Lugano 5-2.
Geneva team Servette is second – Basel needed a slip up from Servette to secure its place – which it got as Servette drew 0-0 against Bern Young Boys.
The win does give authorities in the city a problem.
Public spaces across Basel which would normally be used for football celebrations - such as a team parade through the town – have been set up with large screens to watch the song contest.
