As the Swiss skiing elite prepare for a new season, there’s a concern about safety.
A Le Matin Dimanche investigation revealed that skiers’ brains remain at risk because current helmets are based on standards dating back to 2013.
Many top skiers say it’ not normal that safety standards are more than 10 years old.
Amid growing concerns, the International Ski Federation now says it has launched a project group with researchers at the Gustave Eiffel Institute.
The aim is to work with manufacturers, study head and body impacts, and create new certification standards.
