Transport campaigners are calling on Swiss Federal Railways not to get rid of the ticket validation machines.
There are found in all train stations and are used by those who buy multi-journey tickets. Last year over 6 million tickets that need to be stamped before a trip.
The railways say they’re becoming redundant as more and more use digital tickets.
But others say it will be the poor and children who will be disadvantaged the most – those who may not have a smartphone.
According to the train companies, many of the machines are now reaching the end of their life and it will be very expensive to replace them.
