Cantons failing to meet Paris climate commitments

No canton in the country is on track to meet the requirements set down by the Paris climate agreement.

A study released by the World Wildlife Fund show there has been some progress, but not nearly enough.

The WWF looked at all 26 cantons and their climate and energy policies.

It found that building emissions are still too high and more needs to be done to change heating systems and improve insulation.

According to the study, the canton that has made the most progress is Basel-City, the biggest laggard is Appenzell Innerrhoden.
