Car show could return in 2024

The Geneva International Motor Show should return next year. But it may be down to manufacturers before a final decision will be made.

Organisers have signed an agreement with the Palexpo for 2024. 

The show hasn’t taken place since 2019 – first binned because of covid, and then many makers didn’t want to put cars on show as supply chain difficulties meant several new models weren’t ready. 

There are doubts about the future of such shows. Motoring correspondents say there’s a preference from car makers for one main European show - so it could be a battle between Geneva, Munich and Paris. 

The Geneva show was one of the biggest in the world, in 2019 there were 150 marques and 600,000 visitors.
