The president Ignazio Cassis has met the Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky while on a visit to Kiev.
On Twitter, Cassis says he expressed his support for the Ukrainian people and discussed humanitarian aid.
He also said he was shocked at the aggression and the attacks on the civilian infrastructure.
The President’s trip is being backed by many politicians from all parties in Bern – some saying it’s brave as the capital is currently under attack from drones.
But the right-wing Swiss People’s Party are not so sure. One MP, Roland Rino Büchel from Sankt Gallen says it’s only part of the Ukrainian propaganda and threatens Swiss neutrality.
