Covid rules fall - mainly

BAG

As from midnight last night, a whole load of Covid restrictions have come to an end.

Health passes will no longer be needed to enter public spaces.

It’s no longer necessary to wear a mask in the workplace, in shops, bars or restaurants – but you will still need to on public transport. However,  even that requirement will go at the end of next month.

One other rule that will remain is that if anyone tests positive, they will still need to isolate for the time being. That also ends next month.

Speaking at yesterday’s press conference, the president Ignazio Cassis was asked if the nightmare could return. He says immunity in Switzerland is now every high – with the vaccinations and those infected – and now we’re in the stage where we have to learn to live with Covid. It’s not going away.

But he does say the government will continue to monitor the situation and will take action if required.
