A Geneva cyclist who was badly injured after her tyre was caught in a tram line has been given something else to be sore about – a large fine.
The woman was fined over CHF 800 for not being in control of her bike. This is on top of three broken teeth, fractures to her hand and shoulder and off work for four months.
The police officer who handed her the ticket seemed to realise it may be unfair – but told her that he had no choice.
Her lawyer says the fine is automatically set – her only hope is to go before a judge, who could show some leniency and understanding.
