Experts at a Turtle protection Center are trying to figure out how a dangerous snapping turtle from North America ended up in canton Vaud.
The turtle was found by a passer-by in Vufflens-le-Château.
The animal can be highly aggressive and could easily bite off a child’s finger. Fortunately, the woman who found it knew a little about turtles and was able to capture it safely.
It’s now being looked after by experts at the Emys Center in Chavornay.
