Donut wars heat up

Is Switzerland developing a taste for donuts – easing out more tradition breakfast items, such as a croissant or a pain au chocolat?

Donuts are becoming more and more popular. Coop says demand has been growing for some time. The supermarket also stocks branded Dunkin’ Donuts products. 

The donut war is about to heat up. 

Krispy Kreme is about to expand into Switzerland. The franchise has been secured by a Swiss businessman. 

The first shop is about to open in Lausanne and Nicolas Duleroy says he will open several more locations over the next five years.
