A car driver has died after hitting a bus in the Pays de Gex in neighbouring France.

The bus was on the main road between Divonne-les-Bains and Gex yesterday afternoon.

The 64-year-old driver was from canton Fribourg. Police say the car appeared to veer to the left and collided with the bus.

The bus driver was seriously hurt, but the passengers, including 5 children, suffered only minor injuries.
