Business circles in Geneva are consolidating their support for the Swiss People’s Party candidate for a seat on the cantonal Grand Council.
Lionel Dugerdil is facing a Green Party candidate, Nicolas Walder in a run off vote for a seat in the government.
During the first round, business associations were divided, but with a simple choice, the Federation of Romand Enterprises and the Geneva Chamber of Commerce say the right-wing parties are committed to putting the interests of Geneva first.
But the mayor of the neighbouring French town of Annemasse, Christian Dupessy, says he would like to see Walder win the vote.
He says the Green Party has a vision for mobility and social cohesion for the region.
