An earthquake - measuring 4.2 on the Richter scale - struck the Canton of Bern yesterday afternoon.
The Swiss Seismological Service (SED) at the ETH in Zurich reported on its website that the earthquake, focussed around Mürren in the canton of Bern, was located at a depth of 1.7km.
The Blick reports that minor damage was possible in isolated cases near the epicenter. Some readers reported feeling like they were on a ship.
Others said that the walls were creaking.
The Swiss Seismological Service actually records over 1000 earthquakes per year in Switzerland and neighbouring countries but typically of magnitudes of 2.5 or lower.
