An investigation is underway after an easyJet plane nearly crashed into Lake Geneva while landing.
The flight had left Edinburgh on November 5th last year. Swiss air accident authorities say the incident was ‘serious.’
While approaching the airport, the plane descended too sharply and at one point was only 230 meters above the water – at that stage it should have been at 750 meters.
The pilots were forced to climb quickly. Reports suggest the plane was less than 30 seconds away from disaster. It landed safely on a second attempt.
easyJet says it’s cooperating fully and the pilots are currently on leave.
