The federal initiative for Environmental Responsibility has been roundly rejected by voters – as expected.
Launched by the youth wing of the Green Party, it called for businesses and consumers to respect the ‘planetary boundaries’ and not to consume more that be renewed naturally.
Many believe the initiative went too far and would damage business and cause price rises.
Over 70% said no, and no canton voted in favour.
