If you receive a luxury item of jewellery in the post – unexpectedly – it’s probably a scam.
It’s happening to a few people around the country.
One woman told the Tribune de Genève she opened a Cartier box with a ring inside. At first, she thought it may be a gift from her husband, but it was soon apparent it was a very poor fake.
And worthless.
The police say they’re aware and it’s called a ‘brushing scam’.
The companies behind the items need a confirmed delivery before a review can be written on Amazon or AliExpress.
The recipient can normally assume their details have been leaked after a genuine purchase.
