The government says the proposed vaccine certificate being issued by pharmacies will not be officially recognised by authorities – here or abroad.
Everyday thousands of people are being vaccinated and there are fears many will have to wait before getting a certificate.
The government certificate is due by June 7th – but it’s not expected to be used until July.
Any certificate that will be recognised outside the country has to have been approved by the Federal Health Office.
There are warnings the logistical challenge of registering all those who are vaccinated will overwhelm the system.
Michel Matter, vice-president of the Swiss Association of Physicians, says there could be as many as three million people who will want to travel by the end of June – and they will all want a certificate
