Federal Councillor Martin Pfister faced loud protests at the University of Geneva yesterday evening.
Around fifty pro-Palestinian demonstrators booed and jeered the Defense Minister over Switzerland’s purchase of Israeli ADS-15 drones.
Pfister was forced to leave the stage after just five minutes, delaying his presentation on the EU agreement package by nearly half an hour. Police in riot gear later restored order, and the event continued.
Protesters accused Switzerland of complicity in the Gaza conflict, while the university said it supports free expression but not disruption of events.
