Plans to drastically cut the speed limit in some areas of Geneva in an effort to reduce noise pollution is being fought by two political parties.
The Swiss People’s Party and the Liberals say the plan should be suspended and more work needs to be done to look at alternatives, such as sound absorbing road surfaces.
They also say that public transport should not be affected by the lower limits.
The new limits are due to be phased in from the end of the year.
