The government says the 13th monthly pension payment will be first paid in December 2026.
Voters backed an initiative in March to bring in an extra month of pension payments.
Since then, there’s been a debate if payments should increase every month by one twelfth – or should be it aid out in one time once a year.
The government has decided on the once-a-year option and it will start at the end of 2026.
On average that will be a CHF 1,900 Christmas bonus.
