A strong turnout marked the first citizen meeting held this week in Geneva.
Residents were able to question Mayor Alfonso Gomez directly for nearly two hours - an initiative he hopes will become an annual fixture.
The meetings are part of Geneva’s rotating mayoral system, where each member of the executive takes the role for a year and sets priorities.
Gomez says the initiative comes amid declining trust in institutions globally, arguing that open dialogue and direct exchanges are key to maintaining democratic credibility.
