France is outlining its path out of lockdown. The prime minister Jean Castex says from Monday week, 3rd May, the 10km travel limit will be scrapped.
From the middle of next month shops, museums and outdoor eating and drinking areas will be able to open – also some sporting activities will be allowed again.
Schools will also reopen over the next couple of weeks.
Castex says the third wave appears to have peaked.
The French vaccination programme is also picking up speed. From tomorrow, all those over 55 will be entitled to the one-shot Johnson and Johnson jab.
So far 13 million people in the country have had at least one shot.
