French authorities and volunteers are working at full speed to get polling places for the French parliamentary elections up and running in French speaking Switzerland.
The President, Emmanual Macron, called a surprise vote on June 9th.
The French Consul General in Geneva, Clément Leclerc, says they normally have a year to plan – but this time, three weeks.
There are 132,000 voters in western Switzerland and polling places will be set up at the Palexpo in Geneva, the Beaulieu in Lausanne and the Forum Fribourg in Granges Paccot.
French elections are held with two rounds – June 30th and July 7th.
The Consul General says he expects this election to have a high turnout.
