A French road project which was thought to have been dead and buried has been revived, much to the anger of many Geneva communes and associations.
The Viry autoroute junction is now being discussed by Haute Savoie Départment after being rejected by the local council.
The major road project is just two kilometres away from the Geneva commune of Soral.
Local Geneva groups as well as the Geneva Green Party are calling for the project to be abandoned, saying it’s a backward step for mobility.
