A barrage of opposition to a Geneva plan to bring in a blanket 30 kph limit on many streets means it’s been delayed.
The canton wants to bring in the limit to cut noise pollution.
It would cover around 300 different roads.
The motoring organisation the TCS has launched a legal appeal against the idea, as well as other political parties, including the Swiss People’s Party.
The TCS says there’s no evidence the limit would cut noise – and it could slow down public transport and emergency vehicles.
