Football fans in Geneva will still be able to watch World Cup matches together this summer despite restrictions linked to the G7 summit in nearby Evian.
The State Council has approved extended opening hours for bars and restaurants during the tournament, which runs from June 11th to July 19th.
Outdoor screens on terraces will also be permitted, although the exact rules will be decided by individual municipalities.
Geneva City Councillor Marie Barbey-Chappuis welcomed the move, calling it good news for the hospitality sector.
