A series of fires in neighbouring France stretched French fire services, who called on help from Geneva.
All the fires started between 3 and 4am on Saturday – within a range of only 3km.
The first was a fire in a rubbish dump in the basement of an apartment building in Gaillard, leading to residents being evacuated. Then in the same town, another pile of rubbish on a construction site was alight and finally a blaze at a scooter shop in Annemasse.
French and Geneva teams tackled the fires for several hours.
An investigation is underway.
