Geneva 'most stoned'

Geneva is a stoner’s paradise.

According to wastewater analysis by the European Monitoring Center for Drugs, more people smoke pot in Geneva than any other of the 104 cities surveyed – including Amsterdam.

Other Swiss cities were also high – on the list – Zurich was 5th, Basel 6th. Bern was a bit lower at 11 – even so, it makes Switzerland as a whole a heavy weed user.

A separate study by the University of Geneva suggests that 3 quarters of  million joints are smoked in the country every day.

It’s estimated a billion francs is spent on the drug every year.
