Geneva’s population continued to grow in 2025, reaching over 537,000 residents by the end of December - 41.7 percent of them foreign nationals.
According to the Cantonal Statistics Office, the increase of nearly 7,000 people was driven mainly by migration, which accounted for almost four out of five new residents.
The French remain the largest foreign community.
Housing supply also expanded, with a net gain of over 2 and a half thousand units - but the number of new builds is dropping after a boom.
