From Monday until Wednesday the A1 autoroute will be closed to traffic heading towards the Bardonnex border. Traffic will have to exit at Meyrin, Vernier and the city centre.
Trucks are being urged to route through Vallorbe instead.
Geneva Airport stays open but warns of disruption from Friday.
Anyone affected can call a free hotline on 0800 902 456.
