Geneva to send buses to Tunisia

Geneva’s old buses are getting a second life - on the streets of Tunis.

Geneva Public Transport has signed a deal to donate nearly 200 buses to the Tunis Transport Company.

As Geneva heads for a fully electric fleet by 2030, its retired vehicles will gradually roll south starting in 2026.

The move is being pitched as both sustainable and socially responsible. For Tunis, where the buses are running on borrowed time, it’s a welcome boost.

The hand-me-downs from Geneva could help ease jams and modernize public transport in the Tunisian capital.
