Thieves who stole an 800 kilo container of gin from the bottom of Lake Constance had to be professionals.
For the last three years, the company Ginial, has been making a specialized gin which is left on the lake floor for 100 days. The makers claim it gives the gin a unique taste.
All the gin was due to be bottled and each one given a unique number – it had all been presold.
When divers went down to collect the container – it was gone.
It’s unknown how long ago it was stolen. But it would have required a floating crane and specialized knowledge.
Lake police have also searched and found nothing.
The gin was close to an army aircraft which crashed into the lake in 1941.
That’s still there.
