Cantons Geneva and Vaud have issued a heat alert this weekend. The decision has been taken by the cantonal doctors.
Geneva says the alert will trigger a series of services for the elderly and others at risk, such as the homeless.
There’s free access to museums and swimming pools.
The canton will also arrange extra home visits for the vulnerable.
Advice for everyone is to stay out of the heat, drink at least 1 and a half litres of water a day – and cool off under a shower or go for a swim.
