High avalanche warnings in place

Heavy snow over the weekend means there are several avalanche warnings across the country.

MeteoNews says in some areas half a meter of snow has fallen – with snow down as low as 500 meters.

According to the Federal Avalanche Bulletin, the highest warnings – up at level 4 out of 5 – are in canton Glarus.

But there are also warnings in cantons Valais, Bern, Uri and Graubünden.

The authorities warn that there could be large spontaneous avalanches at times.
