We’re going to have to live with higher electricity prices for a while yet.
Today, a five-room household pays around CHF 1,305 a year for electricity, that’s 350 francs more than in 2022.
The surge came after the war in Ukraine drove up energy costs.
And although wholesale prices have since dropped, we’ll be stuck with higher bills, due to long-term contracts, grid charges, and investment in renewables.
We’re going to have to get used to it.
