The Geneva University Hospital has opened a new emergency department after 4 years of work.
It’s hoped the renovation will improve patient care and cut waiting times.
On average, someone needing emergency care arrives at the hospital every three minutes – more than 100 every day.
The new unit – which is 3,900 m2 – is the largest in the country.
The main change is a new reception area which the hospital says will mean people will see a doctor quicker and improves patient confidentiality.
