An investigation is under way to find who shot three hedgehogs with a small calibre gun in Confignon in Geneva.
Locals are horrified at the discovery – and also fear for other small animals – including pets.
There are strict federal and cantonal laws on the protection of animals. In serious cases it could lead to jail time.
The commune of Confignon issued a statement, saying it’s committed to the protection of the environment and condemns the killing of the animals.
