The latest figures from the Federal Health Office show the infection rate remains fairly stable from a week ago with 187 new cases in the last two weeks, compared to 171.
The death rate is also stable, 49 over the past week – the same number the week before.
The majority of cases – 82% - are either the UK or South African variant.
In Geneva, over 8% of the population have received at least one dose of a vaccine – a similar number in canton Vaud. At the current rate it will take over 2 years to vaccinate everyone in Geneva and over 5 years in Vaud.
The best performing canton is Sankt Gallen, they will have vaccinated everyone in under a year and the worst is Lucerne – at current rates it will take over 11 years to get to everyone.
